A storm system that started in the south and brought many places their first white Christmas in decades moved up the East Coast yesterday and is depositing extraordinary amounts of snow. The threat of snow forced the postponement of an NFL football game and has forced the closure of airports and halted public transportation.
Snow fell as far south as Jacksonville, Florida over the holiday and areas further north recorded moderate snowfall. Huntsville, Alabama saw 6 inches of snow; Raleigh, North Carolina saw 8.5 inches and Gatlinburg, Tennessee recorded 8.0 inches.
Those totals are minimal however to what is being deposited on a large area from New York City to Boston. Central Park has reported 13 inches and Brooklyn 17.5 inches. In New Jersey Atlantic City reported 15.7 earlier this morning but that total has since climbed to 19 inches. Foxboro, Massachusetts has seen 11.5 inches.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor and four other Buckeyes were suspended by the NCAA for the first five games of next season for selling championship rings, jerseys and awards, and receiving improper benefits from a tattoo parlor. All can still play in the Sugar Bowl against Arkansas.
Along with Pryor, running back Daniel Herron, wide receiver DeVier Posey, offensive lineman Mike Adams and defensive end Solomon Thomas must sit out and repay between $1,000 to $2,500 to charity.
Pryor must repay $2,500 for selling his 2008 Big Ten championship ring, Fiesta Bowl sportsmanship award and his 2008 gold pants, a trinket given to players who are a part of a team which beats rival Michigan.

Go pro. Do it immediately after the Sugar Bowl. Play the game, take a shower, and sign with the agent of your choice. Then go drink a Hand Grenade at Tropical Isle to celebrate.
Think about it, Terrelle Pryor, Boom Herron, DeVier Posey, Mike Adams and Solomon Thomas. You don't need this aggravation.
You can go to the NFL or the CFL or the UFL, where you'll be paid when someone profits from your name or likeness. You'll be fairly compensated for your contribution to your team's gross revenue. Should you benefit from your notoriety, you won't be punished.
