Crazy shoppers rushed into retail stores on a snowy day after Christmas. Thousands of people searched for their favorite items fighting a nearly freezing cold. Most of them had planned the Sunday after Christmas for their holiday shopping.
Though the numbers rarely reached the pre-Christmas boom, retailers got a good Sunday before they end the holiday shopping even. Many stores had put special offers for the last Sunday of the year. Shoppers selected the post-Christmas Sunday to get best in the market without much door trafficking.

TLC’s new show Extreme Couponing features people who go to great lengths for a deals. Some of the people on Extreme Couponing got $1100 worth of stuff for only $50!
Coupon Queen Joanie rakes in a $638.64 haul for just $2.64! She has massive stocks of supplies, as does Amanda, another ‘extreme couponer’ featured who shows off her toilet paper reserves.
Entertainment Tonight dished with one of the coupon diva Amanda:
“I’ve been stockpiling for about three and a half years,” she says. “When I look at my toilet paper the feeling it brings to me is absolute joy!” She and her partner have over 3000 rolls of toilet paper, enough to last the couple around 40 years.

Groupon, the popular online group buying website, made big headlines earlier this month when it reportedly rejected a buyout offer from Google for more than $5 billion (yes, with a “b”).  While Groupon may be the best known company in the booming social e-commerce/group buying market, a national company called BuyWithMe that was founded last year by Wellesley’s Andrew Moss has developed a major following of its own (not to mention $22 million in funding from Bain and Matrix)  in a market that everyone from AOL to Microsoft is crowding into.
